The Difference Is What Doesn’t Go Deep Inside Your Ear.

For many people, the hardest part of wearing hearing aids isn’t just the sound. It’s the feeling of something sitting inside the ear.

A tip that feels too snug. Pressure that becomes noticeable after a few hours. Or the plugged-up sensation some people experience with sealed hearing aids.

Flysound OpenEar takes a different approach.

Its ear-clip design rests around the ear, with the sound outlet positioned near the entrance of the ear canal. There is no deep-fitting earplug.

You still get hearing assistance, without the same sealed, in-ear design.

Left: a tip or dome inside the canal. Right: the speaker resting outside it.

Traditional sealed in-ear style

  • Fits inside the ear canal.
  • May feel plugged or create pressure for some wearers.
  • Uses an in-ear seal or dome.

Flysound OpenEar style

  • Clips around your ear.
  • Sound outlet rests near the ear opening.
  • Designed for a more open wearing experience.

A different way to wear hearing aids, especially if you’ve never liked the feeling of something deep inside your ears.

It Looks More Like an Earbud Than a Traditional Hearing Aid.

Flysound OpenEar has a modern, low-profile design. The ear-clip shape follows the curve of your ear, with the main body sitting behind it.

No bulky piece hanging down. No large in-ear shell. Just a modern design that looks at home in everyday life.

Made for the Conversations You Don’t Want to Miss.

The little moments matter. The person sitting across the table. A conversation while making breakfast. A phone call from someone you love. Or catching what someone says without constantly asking them to repeat it.

Flysound OpenEar is designed to support everyday listening, with adjustable sound settings you can adapt to different surroundings.

Wear a lightweight, rechargeable hearing aid while going about your normal routine.

Not just hearing more sound. Having a hearing aid that feels practical enough to become part of your day.

Hearing performance varies between users and environments.

Easier to Understand Than You Might Think.

You shouldn’t have to guess how your new hearing aids work. Here’s what using Flysound OpenEar looks like.

  1. Step 1

    Take one out

Open the case and lift the earpiece straight out of its cradle. The arm and speaker are one moulded piece — there is no tip or dome to fit first.

  2. Step 2

    Put it on

Rest the speaker in the bowl of your ear and let the arm settle behind it. Adjust the volume and listening settings on the device or in the app.

  3. Step 3

    Put it back to charge

Both units go back in the case at the end of the day. The case charges them and shows the level as a number, and it tops up from the USB-C port on its back.

Short demonstrations, no sound. They start when they scroll into view.

A Different Design. But Not the Right Hearing Aid for Everyone.

Flysound OpenEar is an over-the-counter hearing aid intended for adults aged 18 or older with perceived mild-to-moderate hearing loss.

It may be worth considering if:

  • You dislike the feeling of deeply inserted hearing aids.
  • You prefer a modern ear-clip design.
  • You want adjustable sound for everyday listening.
  • You prefer rechargeable devices over frequently replacing batteries.
  • You want Bluetooth connectivity for compatible devices.

Hearing aids do not restore normal hearing, and results vary. If you suspect severe hearing loss, have sudden hearing changes, pain, drainage, dizziness or other concerning symptoms, seek evaluation from a hearing care professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Flysound OpenEar go inside my ear canal?

Its sound outlet is designed to sit near the entrance of the ear canal, without requiring deep insertion. The device clips around the ear. It is important to position it correctly for comfort and sound performance.

Will it help me follow conversations?

Flysound OpenEar is designed to provide hearing assistance for eligible adults with perceived mild-to-moderate hearing loss. How well it helps depends on your hearing needs, fit, settings and the listening environment. Busy or noisy environments can remain challenging.

Do I need a smartphone?

Flysound OpenEar offers controls through the device and charging case, as well as a compatible smartphone app for setup and hearing personalization. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for initial fitting and continued use.

Can I use it with phone calls and music?

Yes. Flysound OpenEar supports Bluetooth audio with compatible devices. Available functions and compatibility should be checked against the current product instructions.

How do I charge it?

Place the hearing aids in the supplied rechargeable case and follow the charging instructions. Battery life varies with settings, volume, Bluetooth usage and battery condition.

Is this a pair or just one hearing aid?

The standard OpenEar package contains two hearing aids, one for each ear, along with the charging case and included accessories.

What if I need help?

Contact (302) 271-0679 or hello@flysoundusa.com for assistance with your order or product setup. We answer Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern.

Can I return them if they aren’t right for me?

You have 120 days from the day your order is delivered. Send them back for a full refund of what you paid. There is no restocking fee and we cover the return postage with a prepaid label.

See the complete return policy before purchasing.

Are these FDA approved?

Over-the-counter hearing aids are regulated medical devices in the United States. Regulatory status depends on the specific device and its applicable requirements. We provide accurate product labeling and regulatory information rather than describing registration or listing as FDA approval.

Robert Ellison My wife reads little bits of the newspaper to me over breakfast. With the OpenEar, I’m catching more without asking her to start over. Been using them most mornings for three weeks now.

Daniel Foster My son helped with the app, but I’ve managed the volume myself since then. Lunch with my brother was easier to follow. Still had trouble when the table behind us got loud.

Patricia Bennett I kept waiting for the clips to bother me with my glasses. Wore them through lunch and a card game without needing to take them off. That’s a welcome change from my last pair.

Susan Whitmore I like not having an earpiece pushed inside my ear. The charging case lives beside my bed now, which helps me remember. Getting the left clip settled still takes an extra try some mornings.
